NYS Health Connector - Request Data - NYAPD
Request Data
NYS DOH adheres to data release policies that enable qualified applicants to access data for approved uses while upholding the security and privacy of patient data. DOH will publish anonymized data from the APD through the APD website and/or Health Data NY. DOH’s process for releasing identifiable data to researchers and other qualified recipients is currently in development. Preliminarily, release of identifiable data is expected to require:
- Execution of a Data Use Agreement (DUA), Data Exchange Application Agreement (DEAA) and/or Business Associate Agreement (BAA)
- Review by an Institutional Review Board (IRB)
- Review by a Data Release Review Committee or similar body, convened by DOH
APD Requestors
The APD Bureau will post additional information about the APD data application process as it becomes available.

Health Data NY
Health Data NY is the Department’s open data portal. Currently, over 150 different de-identified datasets on more than 80 topics are available to download or filter. Users can also create maps and charts. The APD will eventually provide de-identified datasets on Health Data NY.
